Videos

Using video and audio is a trend that has taken hold within the Karuk language learning community. Here are the videos being created by Julian Lang and by Lang and Emilio Tripp, Lang’s apprentice. The idea for the videos is to create language situations where one can hear the language.

Comments by Lang: As is the case with many creative mediums, ways of creating, the hardest part is to just jump in with both feet and get them wet! The verb “create” implies a process. We must make anew. It is also the process or religion or philosophy of our Karuk People. We are Fix the Earth People. The hardest part of this job is stopping everything and doing it. We try to apply what we have learned from our cultural teachings to our everyday lives.

NOTE: I will be adding the videos, one each day, time permitting so that they are all located here. Eventually, as Emilio acquires more language skills we will elaborate the Karuk language. Until then the versions posted here will be V1, version 1.
