The word for “I” is naa

Example: Combine the pronoun with a noun

Naa ávansa I am a man
Naa asiktávaan I am a woman

The word for “You” is iim

Example: Combine the pronoun with a noun

Iim yeenipaxvúhich You are a girl
Iim avansáxiich You are a boy

The word for “He, She, and It” is a single word: uum

Example: Combine the pronoun with a noun

Uum akúnvaan He is a hunter
Uum víkaan She is a weaver
Uum víkar It is a basket.

Vaa and Pay are two very important pronouns meaning that and this. They are so commonly used that it is important to learn them.

Vaa ávansa that man
Pay asiktávaan this woman

Using the 2 words practice saying the wordlist using this example:

NOTE ON USAGE: It is common usage to add the prefix pa- to noun that is indicated by the pronouns vaa and pay. So, it is correct to say:

Vaa pa’ávansa
Pay pa’asiktávaan

or (using the wordlist):

Vaa pavíkar that weaver
Pay pakachakâach this bluejay
