Stay tuned Guy. We, several of us, are working slowly to find the best software application to broadcast an live streamed online class. We've made a few attempts via Ustream. You can find us by searching "Karuk'. There are many false starts and a few good audio recordings made early this month. We have classes on Mondays and Wednesdays usually at 5:30 PST. Glad you found us.

Hello and I am thankful I found your site. My name is Guy, my Mother and Father moved us to the Klamath River when is was 1 from Los Angeles. They owned Steelhead Resort, where the Klamath met the Scotter. When Steelhead burnt in the big flood, Dad bought Rainbow Resort and we lived down river in Hamburg on HWY 96 and I went to Klamath River Elementary School and Happy Camp High School. After high school my parents sent to school in Europe, a far stretch from Happy Camp, where I learned 5 languages. My heart has always yearned to learn the language of the tribe I was raised with. My best friend was Jeanne Burrcell and her mother and their family.

Long story short I am earnestly interested in learning the language of the incredible people that raised me. How do I go about that? I have such great respect for Happy Camp and the Karuk.
Sincerely
Guy Lewis

You could definitely see your enthusiasm within the paintings you write. The arena hopes for even more passionate writers like you who are not afraid to say how they believe. All the time go after your heart.

I'm new to building sites and I was wondering if having your site title relevant to your content really that important? I see your title, "Ikxaramkûusrah—The Dark Sun | Institute of Native Knowledge " does seem to be spot on with what your blog is about but yet, I prefer to keep my title less content descriptive and based more around site branding. Would you think this is a good idea or bad idea? Any assistance would be greatly valued.

Dear Brother Julian (you are one year older than me), Thank you for your good words and dedication to preserving the ways of araar, the People. I have been a fan of your writings for a long time and was delighted to find this site. I agree that it seems that it is the non-natives who are living in the past, both in their view of Indian people (taken from museums and Hollywood movies)and in the Euro-American preoccupation with their own history. The elders who I have had the honor of knowing see history like a great river, going back in time to the source, and forwards to the seventh generation and beyond. Thoughts offered with respect.
